Flagstaff Shelter to Transition Away from Hotel Use

Flagstaff Shelter Services (FSS) announced Friday that its staff is preparing to move clients from local hotels back to the congregant shelter or other housing opportunities. City Adds Shelter Beds, Invests in Solutions for Homelessness

The city of Phoenix relies on community partners who are dedicated to providing shelter, food and support services for individuals in the community experiencing homelessness. This includes organizations such as United Methodist Outreach (UMOM), Chicanos Por La Causa, Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), Native American Connections, Community Bridges, and Southwest Behavioral & Health Services. Grants are provided to these organizations from both city and federal funds to support their community efforts.

Central Phoenix Community Garden Vandalized, Volunteers Respond to Help it Bounce Back

A central Phoenix community garden, Agave Farms, was vandalized over the weekend. Kindhearted volunteers have responded to help the garden bounce back.  Michelle Cloud, a Senior Team Lead with Southwest Behavioral & Health Services, led the volunteer group made up of SB&H members, and joined 12 News to share the impact that volunteering has on those involved.
