As the holidays come to an end, there is one last celebration of the year. It’s important that we remember the importance of keeping our children safe this New Year’s Eve, so here are a few helpful tips.
- Consider hosting an alcohol free party for your teen and their friends. Pinterest has some great ideas for alcohol free games and drinks that are sure to please everyone! Having your teen at home assures they will stay safe and alcohol free this holiday season.
- If your teen does go out this New Year’s Eve, make sure you know every detail. Where will they be going? How long will they stay? Who is driving? Will there be adult supervision? Will there be alcohol? Be sure to communicate your expectations on topics like curfew and underage drinking.
- Look into local community events for teens. Some churches and youth serving organizations host safe New Year’s celebrations for youth!
