Programs Help House the Homeless

Near the beginning of each year, the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) sponsors a Point in Time event, with scores of volunteers taking to the streets to count “unsheltered” homeless people. Eddie Thompson was one of them. Eddie shared his story, the support he has received from community programs, and his plan to start classes at Southwest Behavioral, sit down with a psychologist, and figure out how to deal with problems in the past so he won’t be out on the streets.

CARES Act Helps Housing Issues for Those With HIV/AIDS Amid COVID-19

Funds are still available to help solve housing instability issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic for those with HIV/AIDS, according to Southwest Behavioral & Health Services in Phoenix. The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization received $100,000 from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act back in May to help assist with short-term rent, mortgage and utility assistance requests.
SB&H Names Erica Missicano VP of Compliance and Risk Management
