The Arizona Affiliate of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America announces the launch of its new name and website, DrugFreeAz.org.
A survey of Arizona parents conducted by DrugFreeAz.org shows that parents turn to the internet as their number one source for information about preventing underage drinking and drug use. The new name, DrugFreeAz.org, clearly tells parents where they can find helpful resources and tools.
Features of the comprehensive new site include a wealth of tools for parents and caregivers, information about community partners and useful resource links for parents and teens. The site also features a brand new parent blog, a video of the week, an online learning center, a monthly e-newsletter sign up and a calendar of events which features upcoming parent workshops.
“It’s our goal to be a partner to parents in raising healthy, drug-free kids,” said Leslie Bloom, CEO of DrugFreeAz.org. “Parents want to know where helpful resources reside and how to connect with other parents. DrugFreeAz.org is the place for them. We will also continue to offer educational trainings and resources beneficial to communities statewide,” said Bloom.
The local name change also reflects a name change at the national level. The Arizona Affiliate’s parent organization, The Partnership for a Drug-America, recently changed its name to The Partnership at DrugFree.org.
As always, site visitors can learn about different types of drugs, signs that their loved ones might be using, how to talk to someone about drug and alcohol abuse, what to do if they suspect their child is drinking or using drugs and how to share their knowledge with others.
One resource highlighted on DrugFreeAz.org is its new program, AZ Parents Connect℠.
