Thanksgiving Eve is a day that kids gather to see old friends and to be with siblings. Some are home from college and want to party with friends.  But according to the National Center on Addiciton and Substance Abuse, more young people drink on the day before Thanksgiving than on any other day of the year.  So parents, be encouraged to talk to your teens about the risks involved in providing and consuming alcohol.  Help your teens have a safe, alcohol free holiday season by monitoring the alcohol in the home, checking out who will be supervising the party their headed out to, making it very clear you do not want your teen to drink alcohol and share what the consequences will be, and more importantly, talking and listening to your teen regularly. Thanksgiving eve can be fun but it doesn't have to be deadly.
