Groups, Skills Training and Development - Skills Training and Development is defined as teaching independent living, social, and communication skills to members and/or their families in order to maximize the member’s ability to participate in the community and to increase independence. Examples of areas that may be addressed include self-care, coping skills, social skills, same- and opposite-sex friendships, advocacy, self-esteem, recreation, development of social support networks and use of community resources. Services may be provided individually, in group format or to family members.
To receive SACE group services, the family/member will need to complete an intake at the nearest Southwest Behavioral & Health Outpatient location. Once the intake is completed, the assigned clinician will complete an internal referral for SACE group services.
