“Drugs don’t hurt anyone but me.”
“No one cares if I use drugs or not.”
These are some of the things that parents, teachers, friends and family might hear when someone they care about is using drugs.
Hannah Morgan is one of those family members.
Her brother started using marijuana, which lead to him using other drugs. Her brother’s drug use destroyed her family and eventually lead to his death.
This is her story.
Hello!
Turning my family’s tragedy into something that could quite possibly change someone’s life has been a goal of mine since the age of sixteen. I am now nineteen years old and hold the title of Miss Grand Canyon. I am using my title to connect with organizations, such as drugfreeaz.org, for opportunities to make a difference in the state of Arizona.
My personal platform is Reach for Your Dreams, Not Drugs. I use my family’s story, along with education and encouragement, to raise awareness that Arizona is indeed in a battle against drug use and abuse. I travel throughout the state of Arizona sharing my story and volunteer with several organizations that not only promote a drug free lifestyle but also promote healthy lifestyles that you can share with your family. With my title I also raise money for various charities around the state and promote the Miss America Organization’s platform of Children’s Miracle Network.
I ask you to step back in time and read the story written by my sixteen year old self, apply that to your life, and reach for your dreams!
